Leopard Kills Baboon, ends up caring for its baby

This stuff's straight out of a Disney movie, a lone Leopard hunting to survive kills a baboon and then discovers the baboon is holding a baby. A pack of hyenas smells blood in the air and the leopard quickly scoops the baby baboon into it's mouth and retreats to the safety of a tree.

The footage is from a National Geographic documentary called "Eye Of The Leopard."

The abilities of this robot BigDog from Boston Dynamics are amazing, it moves just like a living breathing animal, minus the head though.

The way it walks through snow, on ice, up hills and over obstacles is simply amazing. Looks a little goofy when it slips on ice, but sure enough it's able to keep on going.

Shame it's purpose for existing is for a military purpose, I could imagine it aiding climbers, search and rescue teams, any number of peaceful operations.

I'm guessing what you see in these Malaysian Martial Arts Training Videos has something to do with facing pain and getting used to it, I guess that would have to be right or this is just plain crazy.

Biggest Crocodile ever caught on video

This croc dubbed Gustave is said to be the biggest crocodile ever seen in Africa, it's said to have eaten over 300 people and the small international team featured in the video is on a mission to capture it.

To me it does look giant compared to the other crocs and it does seem capable of taking down a hippo. I was so revved up for its capture, but I let y'all find out what happens.

Kiai is a term used in the martial arts, basically it's built up inner energy that gets released as a focused blow, some say a master of this technique can even shoot energy balls at his opponents, to a lesser extent it's when a martial artist yells when he strikes someone.

I feel sorry for the old master in this video, he's a master of Kiai with many students, you'll see them attacking him and he fends them off with nothing more than a wave of his hand. Why I feel sorry for him is he made a $5000 bet that he could beat any MMA fighter with only his Kiai energy, I guess he didn't bet the MMA fighter wouldn't act like one of his students.

I don't know what it is about underwater explosions but they just seem so brain damaging. In this video the ship where the footage is shot from is so close that I can't believe they didn't get hurt.

It's a pretty spectacular explosion and it seems to move in slow-mo though it's at normal speed.

Seen a picture from this video around quite a bit, didn't know it came from a video. The fish is huge, especially for a fresh water fish. I know a little about fishing and you can't really judge the age of a fish based on size, some fish grow faster than others, catfish are probably old. The fish I most want to catch in life is a Snapper and if they are big they are usually old and well I don't want to kill something that is older than myself, so catch and release is my option there.

Any way this video shows some men landing a huge thrashing fish, in the end it measured 9feet and weighed 646 Pounds.

How 360 fanboys have mislead me about the PS3

Me and my brother have always talked about video games, gaming systems and such. One topic we would always talk about is weather it was worth buying a Playstation 3 seeing that he has an Xbox 360 and has owned it for quite awhile now.

His conclusion has always been that he wouldn't bother buying a PS3 because he has an Xbox 360 and that it could do all he wanted from a gaming system, apart from playing some of the upcoming games that will be available on the PS3, namely Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Final Fantasy XIII and God of War 3.

So a couple of weeks ago I get a call from him saying to go over to his house, so I go over and the first thing that I noticed upon entering his house was the huge HD TV that he had just bought, as I was talking to him about it for a good 10 minutes I then realised the PS3 sitting just under the TV, he laughed at me when I realised.

I remember my first experience with the 360 very clearly, it's not really a good one and I was expecting the same for my first experience with the PS3 but I was totally wrong.

Let me catch you up on my first experience with the 360, when I first saw a 360 in action I did get a feeling of "this is next gen", but it wasn't what I expected, it looked like crap on the TV that he bought to go with it, turned out he had to buy a special cord for it to work nicely on that TV and frankly if he doesn't use that TV it looks crap again. Another thing we tried with the 360 was to get get home movies and pictures onto the hard drive, between us we have 3 cam phones and 2 digital cameras, we could get none of the media from these devices to work on the 360.

Xbox live has also been a little bit of an issue, I don't know what it is like anywhere else, but down here in New Zealand it is very slow, online games for the most part are unplayable and the downloads are like being on dial-up, they must have some sort of bandwidth limiter or something, our connections can download at 400kbs but we clocked the 360 at 20kbs.

The games are what make a gaming system though and the games on the 360 have been great, huge selection and very fun. Though the system as a whole was not quite what I expected.

Back to my first experience with the Playstaion 3, I was expecting similar to the 360, especially judging from all that I have read about it on the net, but I was pretty wrong in thinking that, I think I was reading all the comments from 360 fanboys who probably had no experience at all with a PS3. My brother first showed me the interface, which looked pretty cool, I think a lot fancier than the 360, the online portion is pretty butt ugly but with the upcoming PS3 Home I don't think it matters to much. He downloaded a couple demos at this point and it was pretty quick, seemed like full speed, not limited like the 360.

He also showed me the photo slide show which was pretty unique and some of the home movies that he had put on, I took the time to add some from my phone, it was so easy.

We played through some of the demos that he downloaded and they were all pretty cool, then he popped in Resistance: Fall of Man and this is when I had my first this is "truly next gen" moment, sure it's your typical run of the mill FPS and the 360 could probably produce similar results, but there was something about it, the little things, the scores of birds flying around, the dust in the wind, the way the windows shattered, there was so much going on, something I haven't really seen to a huge extent on a 360, the little things you know.

For most of the games on the PS3 that I have seen since then, lets face it there aren't many, it's the little things that seem to set it apart from the 360, for the most part a lot of the games available on the PS3 are multi platform and the graphics are pretty similar through out. My thoughts is that why would you compare graphics on such titles when they're there mainly to stock the library and not to make the system, comparing the exclusives for each system would give a better idea.

I forgot to mention the blu-ray movies, they are freaking amazing, my only problem was that I got distracted from seeing the actors were wearing make-up, the picture is that clear, but you do need an HD TV to get the most, good thing they're cheap now days.

All in all the PS3 left me wondering what other equipment I could throw at it, so far everything that we have connected to it connects with ease. The graphics are great with a slightly more "next gen" feel to them, online is fast and I'm looking forward to the PS3 Home feature. Over all it's a solid piece of kit and it does way more than a 360 and does it fairly well, with no buggy problems so far. All they really need now is more exclusive games, I feel this is the only way Sony can gain the market back from Microsoft and frankly the PS3 IMHO is better in every other way apart from a few interface issues that 360 fanboys have become used to with the 360.

The Xbox 360 left my brother needing to buy special cords and loads and loads of batteries, my brother so far hasn't had to but any accerories for the PS3 to get the best experience possible, unlike the 360 where he has had to buy add-ons to make it work at it's best. The games are great and the graphics are splendid, if not a little bit hmm old school.

Just a note from my horrible side:
To all the 360 Fanboys that had me thinking that the PS3 was an unworkable, buggy, less powerful machine than the 360, I'd suggest you go out and buy one just to see how wrong y'all are, oh you can't afford it? rent one, what you don't even have pocket change? go find a friend with one, what's that? you don't know anyone that has one? maybe get a job, get rich and make some friends and mingle with the beautiful people that are PS3 owners.

I've never actually seen footage of a Robosaurus before, all I know of it is from "The Simpsons" Truckosaurus. I think seeing one live would be very impressive.

On another note I have never understood why humans have not yet created full on mech warrior type robot suits, maybe it's because there's not enough funding, probably.

This set of images is based on pareidolia, "Pareidolia is a type of apophenia involving the finding of images or sounds in random stimuli."

That over with, these photos are of my toilet floor, The images I see in them are very vivid to me, but the people that I have shown these to come up with their own images.

I have used photoshops auto contrast and burning tools to bring the images I see out a little more.

I remember ages ago when I was at a fireworks display, one of them went sideways instead of going up like it was supposed to, cut my legs up bad, I was so pissed, but after watching what these fellas do for sits and giggles, I don't feel so angry.

Must be some kind of Mexican event. They light the fireworks, but instead of running away they just stand there waiting for the onslaught of fire and who ever may not be close enough, well they run up for a closer look.

The video is pretty long, but it does have some pretty extreme fireworks action and some injuries to.

Transformers On The Prowl - Stop Motion Fun

This makes me want to break out my old Transformers toys, haven't seen them in 15 odd years, maybe we burnt them, hmm. I'm getting a little nostalgic with the new Transformers movie on the way, I hope it's good, judging from the trailers it looks very action packed and violent, hopefully it ain't wussified.

The video below shows some stop motion Transformer action, I think made with the old toys, I remember looking at some of the newer range of transformer toys a few years back and I thought to myself "that ain't no transformer". Do they still make Grimlock ones?
