Lightning Strikes Tree Plus My Own Lightning Video

Don't get to many lightning storms in my part of the world, but I always love it when we do, have been trying to get lightning caught on video for ages and a couple months back I filmed my first footage.

The video just below though is not my own and I hope I never to get this close to lightning. I'd say the the lightning in this video strikes a tree about 20 meters away from the person filming and it is pretty spectacular.

The next video is my own, I was filming police cars on the highway across the harbour from my house during a power outage, I think I was lucky to catch this at all, I didn't actually notice the there was a lightning strike while I was filming, definitely a one time moment, for me anyway.

Let me introduce you to Wilson

Time for some personality, I just added some graphics to Strange Clips and I think it looks pretty good. You may be wondering what they hell that strange head thing is, well let me introduce you to Wilson, Wilson is a carving made out of what we in New Zealand call Ponga as you can see from the photo below he is very comfortable where he is sitting, Wilson has been in that chair ever since he was given to us about 2 years ago. You can see by the expression on his face that he means business.

Ever wondered what Pamela Anderson would look like at age 50, well this age progression video will show you exactly what Pamela will look like.

Well probably, I'm sure she takes better care of her skin, strange to think of Pamela as an old lady.

Jaculus Orientalis, Strange Little Creatures

I have never seen creatures like these before, err maybe except mice, but these look like kangaroos to, I find it strange after watching many a wild life documentary, I still come across animals I have never seen before. Not that strange, I forget a lot of stuff.

Here's the description that came with the video:

"The species is found in the deserts of north Africa and Arabia. It is a nocturnal rodent which may move considerable distances each night in search of food. Its diet includes roots, sprouts, seeds, grains and cultivated vegetables. Jaculus orientalis is a sociable species, often being found in small groups. The breeding season extends over 5-6 months, beginning in February. Gestation has been recorded at approximately 40 days with a mean litter size of three."

Probably have seen these creatures before, but because of the setting it doesn't get my brain clicking.

I'm pretty sure this building was supposed to emplode, but it fell to it's side. Looked very dangerous anyway.

DragonBallZ fan animation

I used to love watching DBZ, it was like watching one big long real time movie or something, I never used to get into drawing them though, but I have attempted to make a hand drawn cartoon like the one below, I gave up after about 30 pages, thought screw this. I'd rather make a nice 3D model and give it a cell shaded look, much easier IMHO.

This DBZ animation is great though, just like the real thing, only not in colour.

Giant Puppet Walking Through Crowd

I've seen photos of the huge puppets before, but I had never seen video clips of them before, the giant girl puppet looks pretty natural while it is been moved around, I would have hope the the giant man would have been walking around as well.

Not much more to say, just pretty cool to see.

Samurai Swords

This isn't exactly strange, but I do like swords. I have done a little knife making in my time, mainly from scrap metal, they usually rust up very quickly if you don't keep them oiled. I couldn't even imagine how much work would go into these Samurai swords, all I know is I want me one.

The video is shot inside a shop in Japan that sells swords and Samurai armor, the filmer actually asks some interesting questions about the items in the shop, pretty informative.

Strangely Cool to me.

Guy Catches Sunglasses With Face

This is pretty awesome, if it's real. This guy gets his mate to throw sunglasses at his face and every time they slip nicely onto it and I don't mean from a few meters away. He gets it from a skate board, from off a bridge and even while in a moving car.

It looks like the film has been reversed, but it also looks like it hasn't been.

Moray Eel Sliding Its Way On To Land, Creepy

I don't mind Eels, I even like eating them (regular Eels that is), but a Moray Eel sliding its way from the sea onto land shown in this video just creeps me out, especially with the speed and manoeuvrability of the this Moray, well it's not that fast, but it's faster that I expected it to be.

Just plain creepy.

I don't know about the people fiming this incredible tornado caught on tape, but I would gotten my bum out of there. Probably storm chasers and the footage they got is down right awesome.

Body Paint, Pink Floyd's The Wall

Pink Floyd's The Wall had a very weird effect on me a few years back as I think it has for a whole lot of people out there, I won't go into any details, but it did change me.
